Do you know Detroit was called the Paris of the Midwest?
The answer is Yes it was. Detroit was Founded on July 24, 1701 by French explorer and adventurer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac. Detroit was called "Paris of the Midwest" for its French heritage, architecture and streets designed as Parasian Boulevards by Augustus B. Woodward.
Detroit can again be the "Paris of the Midwest". It can only help to stay positive, show your Detroit Pride and your Detroit Love by wearing it like a Badge of Honor.

Sunday SUNDAY SUNDAY!
Sorry, this isn’t a used car blowout sale. We apologize. But this Saturday November 1st (and Sunday November 2nd), we’re popping up in a town near you. We’ll be in Birmingham, at the new West Elm store!
What’s West Elm you ask? Well, West Elm is a furniture store that calls Brooklyn, NY home. Known for its modern mid-century designs and clean lines, the Birmingham location of the home lifestyle store is the first in our fair state of Michigan.
Opening earlier this month, West Elm is excited to be part of the Metro Detroit area and we are very happy to be featured there this weekend.
"Detroit has an amazing network of makers and local artisans," says Nicole Sutliff, West Elm's director of public relations. Sutliff continues on to say that the brand has been considering Metro Detroit for quite some time.
And for those of you that don’t know what a pop-up is, we’ll tell you: A pop-up shopis a quick retail shop, generally open for a weekend, at an existing retail space or small area.
Birmingham is prime retail space for us at Ink, and we can’t wait to see you down there buying up the pieces you’ve come to love so much.
So slow-roll in, walk in, wear your Ink proudly, and join us this weekend at West Elm!
Remember, the holidays are right around the corner and we have great affordable items for you to grab for the special Detroit loving family and friends in your life!
West Elm is located at 215 W. Maple in Birmingham and is open from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
